On January 14, 2025, I had the distinct honor of participating in the TiE New Jersey Nurture Program Startup Pitch Demo Day as both an investor and judge. The event brought together a vibrant ecosystem of entrepreneurs, investors, and thought leaders, showcasing the innovative spirit that drives the startup community.

The Event
Hosted by TiE New Jersey, a chapter of the global TiE network dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship, the Startup Pitch Demo Day was the culmination of months of mentoring and preparation for participating startups. Each startup had the opportunity to pitch their business models, solutions, and growth strategies to a panel of judges and a diverse audience. The atmosphere was electric, with founders passionately articulating their visions and competing for recognition and potential investment.
My Role as a Judge and Investor
Serving as a judge allowed me to engage directly with these visionary founders, evaluating their pitches based on criteria such as market opportunity, scalability, innovation, and team strength. It was inspiring to witness the dedication and creativity each team brought to the table.
As an investor, I explored opportunities to support more than ten startups across various sectors, ranging from healthcare technology and sustainable solutions to AI-driven platforms and consumer-focused applications. Each venture presented unique opportunities and challenges, reflecting the dynamic landscape of modern entrepreneurship.
Key Takeaways from the DayMany of the startups demonstrated strong potential for growth and scalability, making them attractive investment opportunities. Exploring these ventures reinforced my belief in the transformative power of early-stage funding
Looking Ahead
I look forward to continuing my journey as an investor and mentor, supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs in turning their bold ideas into impactful realities.
